Richard Fergusson Wins Subaru World Technician Competition
Australian Richard Fergusson from Eblen Subaru Glenelg in South Australia has won the highly competitive Subaru World Technician Competition.
The competition, organised by Subaru Corporation in Japan, is a biennial event held in Tokyo that highlights the talent of Subaru technicians worldwide.
After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the eighth edition of the competition took place on June 28, attracting 12 participants from 12 countries.
Fergusson (pictured above, second from left), representing Australia, showcased unparalleled diagnostic skills and mechanical prowess throughout the competition. With rigorous challenges and strict time constraints, participants faced immense pressure while diagnosing complex electrical and mechanical issues.
Fergusson’s expertise, coupled with his ability to perform under demanding circumstances, ultimately propelled him to victory, solidifying his status as the world’s finest Subaru technician.
Commenting on his remarkable achievement, Fergusson expressed his gratitude, saying, “Competing in the Subaru World Technician Competition was an incredible experience. The level of competition was exceptionally high, and I am truly honoured to have emerged as the winner. It is a privilege to represent Australia and showcase our automotive excellence on the global stage.”
