MotorEx tickets on sale next week
Car entries and spectator tickets for the 20th Meguiar’s MotorEx at the Melbourne Showgrounds will go on sale on 9 December. The rescheduled event will take place on 6-7 February 2021, meaning it will take place in summer for the first time. A COVID-Safe plan submitted to the Victorian Department of Health fell under the Tier 2 event category, allowing for up to 5,000 people per day, so tickets will be limited.
“For the MotorEx team and the Melbourne car community, what an awesome feeling to announce we’re on,” said Andy Lopez, promoter of MotorEx. “We’ve submitted a comprehensive COVID management plan to Vic Health based on the delivery of safe and successful Red CentreNATS in the Northern Territory and Burnout Masters in Sydney. The Showgrounds is going to hum with hundreds of beautiful cars and fantastic businesses.
“The excitement in the auto business community is fantastic. I can’t thank our major partners Meguiar’s, Rare Spares, Shannons, Milwaukee and Bursons enough for sticking with us throughout what’s been a pretty ordinary year for events.”
The event showcases the country’s best elite-quality cars, modified street cars, driving demonstrations featuring some of Australia’s best drifters and the country’s largest performance automotive retail expo. For the first time in show history, the Burnout Masters will also be featured.
In addition, MotorEx will continue its commitment to helping nurture the skilled trade professionals of the future with the Flying Spanners competition taking place in 2020. Teams of TAFE students will tear down and rebuild motors, competing against each other and the clock. Flying Spanners is also provides an opportunity for students to network with key players in the automotive industry.
