Bridgestone provides greater visibility on servicing

Bridgestone says it is tackling the challenge of trustworthiness head on with a renewed promise of transparency through the national adoption of its Bridgestone Tech Check platform.

Coinciding with the roll out of the video-based platform throughout the network of more than 170 Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto stores nationally, is a refreshed customer promise from the retail network to ‘Go With Confidence’ through a commitment to transparency and empowerment.

Through a Bridgestone Tech Check SMS, customers will receive a 60-second video directly from the technician working on their car with an upfront condition report and have an expert mechanic’s viewpoint of their vehicle with commentary, highlighting what needs repairing now, and what can wait.

According to Bridgestone Australia general manager – retail operations, Jon Tamblyn, the platform is centred on giving the customer knowledge, transparency and continuing to build trust between the store and its customers.

“Many consumers enter the car maintenance process feeling pretty nervous: will they be looked after? And who can they trust? The roll out of the Bridgestone Tech Check addresses these questions because we are taking the time to show motorists a firsthand view and build that trust through transparency, and providing a way for them to see and even share the video if they want another opinion,” said Tamblyn.

“Bridgestone Tech Check has been extensively trialled within the Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto network for the past two years, with more than 100,000 videos produced and the feedback we have received from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s giving them the knowledge to make informed decisions about the maintenance of their vehicles and left them feeling confident that they can trust our advice. Seeing really is believing.”

Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand managing director, Heath Barclay, said the launch of the platform is another way that the Bridgestone Select channel sets itself apart from the competition.
