Holden launches TribUTE
It was almost 70 years ago, in Port Melbourne, when the first Holden ute rolled off the production line.
This durable and versatile workhorse was a hard worker, it had a laid-back attitude, was good looking but had a rugged air about it. It had all the qualities an Australian icon should have and as such it became a symbol of the Australian way of life. The Holden ute is part of Australasia’s culture, and folklore, and has been loved by multiple generations of Aussies and Kiwis.
Beginning with the FJ back in 1951, through its 70 years of evolution to the VFII, the Holden ute has proudly sported the lion emblem.
The heritage and 70th anniversary of this proud Australian car will be celebrated by Holden with a show of support to 1.6 million customers still on the road today by creating the TribUTE.
Using Holden Genuine and ACDelco Parts, a re-imagined VE Series 2 SSV Redline Ute will be turned into something unique by a Holden Certified Service Outlet and GM Certified Collision Repairer.
The TribUTE will have 20-inch staggered wheels, upgraded front and rear cross-drilled Brembo brakes and GM Level-3 Track Capable Spec FE3 suspension. It will be powered by a Chevrolet Performance 6.2litre, 525 horsepower LS3 V8, and backed by a T-56 Super Magnum Heavy Duty 6-speed manual.
If this sounds like its right up your alley, it can be yours, as Holden giving it away.
To enter the competition all you need to do is have your Holden serviced at a Holden Certified Outlet or purchase ACDelco oil through the GM Trade Parts programme.
If you are the lucky winner of this truly unique vehicle, you will have the keys handed to you at by none other than Supercars Legend – Craig Lowndes.
