Cadillac’s Auckland experience centre revealed
Details of New Zealand’s first Cadillac Experience Centre have been revealed, with the bold and vibrant space to open on Karangahape Road, just outside the Auckland CBD.
In keeping with Cadillac’s brand ethos, the Auckland Cadillac Experience Centre isn’t located on a traditional ‘auto alley’, or vast footprint in the outer suburbs. Instead, the centre will be located among the boutiques, bars, and restaurants along one of Auckland’s most lively and energetic streets. The two-storey, colonial-style building features an exposed brick facade and large glazed windows that allow for ample natural light.
The centre is being crafted in partnership with design and architecture practice Gensler. The award-winning global firm was also responsible for designing Cadillac’s first European showroom, an equally innovative space in Zurich, Switzerland.
Gensler also led the transformation of Cadillac’s space in the Rosebery Engine Yards in New South Wales, Australia, which will open early next month.
Inside the Auckland Cadillac Experience Centre, a combination of textured greys, classic imagery, sharp lines, and bold lighting will set a clean and modern-feeling scene, while Cadillac will reshape the showroom experience through a specialised vehicle-delivery area with a luxurious guest lounge, a feature-vehicle ‘runway’, a design and personalisation centre, and an on-site service centre.
The facility will also be home to GM New Zealand, with the office to be relocated from Māngere East to a dedicated space within the Karangahape Road site.
“The Cadillac brand is bold, luxurious, and future facing, so this incredible Karangahape Road location is the perfect launching pad for Cadillac in New Zealand,” said Jess Bala, Managing Director of GM Australia and New Zealand.
“From the outset, we’ve said we want to bring Cadillac to the people, and not the other way around, so a location just moments from Auckland’s CBD makes experiencing vehicles like the LYRIQ easy.”
Customer orders for New Zealand will commence from January 2025, first through Cadillac’s online configurator, and will be paired with an “enticing charge” and warranty offer specifically selected for the market.
Test-drive vehicles will be available from early next year, first from location pop-up locations, before moving to Auckland Cadillac Experience Centre in Q2 next year.
