AGP track schedule announced

Fans will be spoiled for choice with a huge line-up of on-track entertainment and no shortage of Australian talent on display at the 2023 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

Formula 2 and Formula 3 will be on Australian shores for the first time, while Formula 1 returns to Melbourne for the third race in the 2023 calendar.

On the F1 grid, all eyes will be on Melbourne-born Oscar Piastri as he embarks on his much-hyped debut season for the McLaren team.

Jack Doohan, son of Australian MotoGP legend Mick Doohan, remains with Virtuoso Racing for his second season in F2, following an impressive sixth place finish in 2022.

Young Australians, Christian Mansell, Tommy Smith and Hugh Barter will all make their full-time debut in F3.

Practice and qualifying sessions for the three categories will begin on the Friday, and the final qualifying session for F1 will take place on the Saturday afternoon.

Sprint races for F2 and F3 will be held on the Saturday, a shorter race format where the grid is determined by reversing the top 10 finishers of Friday’s qualifying session results.

The feature races for F1, F2 and F3 will all run on the Sunday, beginning in the morning and culminating with the Australian Grand Prix in the late afternoon.

Supporting the three open-wheeler championships, the Beaurepaires Melbourne round of the Supercars Championship will take to the circuit from the Thursday, with the fourth and final race taking place on the Sunday morning.

The Porsche Carrera Cup will also return to Albert Park, with the first race on the Thursday, a second on the Friday and the final on the Saturday.
