MINI release new JCW Countryman

MINI has released the new John Cooper Works Countryman, with a fresh new look, new technology and refined equipment.

JCW Countryman features similar aesthetic enhancements carried across the rest of the range, expressed uniquely in this top-of-the-range model for both the Countryman and JCW variants.

The iconic MINI radiator grille now features a horizontal red stripe rather than an outline; standard LED headlights are in a new shape, and at the rear, union jack designs now integrate into the LED rear lenses.

New exterior colours White Silver metallic and Sage Green metallic apply to the JCW Countryman range as well, along with the new Piano Black Exterior option that darkens the headlamp surrounds, rear lights, radiator grille, door handles, and model lettering on the luggage compartment lid.

JCW Countryman TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine produces 225kW and 450Nm. The car also features a new sport exhaust system with enlarged 95mm diameter tailpipes for an aggressive look.

This outstanding power is transferred to the road via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and ALL4 all-wheel drive as standard – with an electronic front differential lock. The 0-100km/h sprint is executed in 5.1 seconds.

The high-rigidity chassis features electromechanical steering system, body stiffening components, dampers, suspension parts and a DSC system made and/or recalibrated by John Cooper Works.

Standard equipment also includes a sports brake system with four-piston fixed caliper disc brakes on the front wheels and single-piston floating-caliper disc brakes on the rear wheels, as well as 18-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels with brake calipers painted in Chili Red.

The interior increases its appeal with a new refined surface around the circular control unit in the centre instrument panel. Intelligently reorganised controls, touch-sensitive bookmark buttons and high-gloss Piano Black surfaces further underscore the car’s premium character.

A new digital instrument display is also standard on the JCW Countryman, measuring 5.0 inches to display essential information concisely in front of the driver.

MINI Connected features also see an intuitive expansion, from Navigation Plus options restructured on the familiar 8.8-inch infotainment screen to enhanced Intelligent Emergency services and Amazon Alexa integration.

The new car will arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2020.
